The institute was founded in 1963.There are more than 350 employees in it. It works at applying and exploiting the fishery machinery and correlative subjects. It expands all kinds of technology trade and technology serving. It has great advantage in the fields of aquaculture, processing, catch, fisheries boat designing, fishery instruments, etc. It has finished more than 150 science and research items, in which about 50 items got the award of science technology progress of China.

• East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Fishery Science Research Institute

    The institute was founded in 1958, which is directly to the Fishery Science Institute of Agriculture Department. It was a comprehensive marine fishery institute facing to East Sea and the Border Sea. There are 7 research sections that are marine aquaculture, fishery resources, fishery catch, fishery environment, aquatic processing, fishery information and fishery. It works at marine fishery application technology, basic application and fishery science and technology exploiter.

• Yellow China Sea Fishery Research Institute of the Chinese Fishery Science Research Institute

    Yellow China Sea Fishery Research Institute is the earliest fishery research organization. It was founded in 1947 in Shanghai, now in Qingdao City of Shangdong province. There are about 581 employees in the institute, including 400 boffins. It has 1 key lab directly to the Ministy of Agriculture, 3 research centers and 10 research sections. The library has 84,000 books. It has published "Marine fishery research". With the development of fishery in China, the institute has been stuided in the marine fishery resource, fishery environment, marine catch, aquatic processing, fishery engineering, etc. Now the institute mainly works at the marine multiplication & breeding aquatics, biology resources & environment and fishery engineering.

• Freshwater Fishery Research Center of the Chinese fishery Science Research Institute

    Freshwater fishery science research institute was founded in 1979.The original name is Yangzi River Fishery Research Institute. It is direct to the Ministy of Agriculture. The center works at China fishery application, basic theory research and the technology renovation, etc. The mainresearch sections are   integrated fishing research, biotechnology  research, fish breeding research, science -technology information, fish health research, fishery economy research, environment conservation, central lab, etc. Its projects are desinged to directly impact commercial aquaculture development such as  integrated fishing system with high yield technology, environment conservation & monitoring technology, fishery economy & zoology utilization, fishery resources of low reaches of Yang River, fish nutrition, special fish breeding technology, etc.

• The Fishery Research Institute of Zhujiang River

   The Fishery Research Institute of Zhujiang River is a comprehensive science research organization, which is directly to Chinese Fishery Science Research Institute. It was founded in 1979. Now the institute has 280 employees, including 120 researchers. The main research fields are fishery routine breeding, biotechnology, breeding, procreation physiology, nutrition physiology, fish illness protection & cure, fishery environment conservation, etc. There are a lot of technicians in the institute. Now it undertakes some key science research items.

• Heilongjiang Fishery Research Institute of Chinese Fishery Science Research Institute

   The institute is a freshwater fishery research organization in cold areas. It was founded in 1950. There are 5 research sections, which is pond aquaculture, fishery breeding, resource multiplication, fishery environment conservation, fishery machinery & catch, one key experimental lab-----Northern fishery biology breeding lab, fishery observation center and the redfish & bulltrout breeding center. The institute studies on coldwater fishery technology and coldwater fishery breeding & multiplication. It faces to the northern areas. In recent years, the institute has gained many science results and great economic benefits.

• Beidaihe River Central Experimental bases of Chinese Fishery Science Research Institute
